California SB 1215 Recycling Fee
Information for JAKKS Pacific & Disguise Customers in California
As of January 1, 2026, certain JAKKS Pacific and Disguise products sold in California will be subject to a Covered Battery Embedded Product Recycling Fee mandated by Senate Bill (SB) 1215, which updated California’s Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003.
Covered Battery-Embedded Products
A covered battery-embedded product is one that contains a battery not easily removable by the customer using standard household tools. Such products must be properly recycled at the end of their lifecycle.
Recycling Fee
Retailers must collect a state-mandated recycling fee based upon the product’s retail price and remit the fee to the State of California. The specific amount of the fee is set by CalRecycle. Additional information on the fee can be found here.
